Australian agriculture, fisheries and forestry generated an estimated 16.3 million tonnes of pre-farm gate waste in 2025, comprising:

• 16.1 million tonnes of organic material (mostly used beneficially on-farm)

• 97,500 tonnes of plastic material (estimate includes agriculture and forestry, not fisheries)

• 159,000 tonnes of workshop material (estimate includes some but not all workshop waste materials).

This interactive dashboard (still in development) explores the organic, plastic and workshop waste generation across the following sectors in Australia:

• Horticulture
• Broadacre
• Livestock
• Dairy
• Forestry and logging.
