PRACTICAL TOOLS TO MANAGE FARM WASTE

The estimated 10.6 million tonnes of pre-farm gate waste generated in 2020-21 included organic, plastic and workshop material.

These informative resources were developed to help Australian agriculture, fisheries and forestry take action to minimise organic, plastic and workshop wastes.

Organic Waste

Animal and plant matter, such as manure from farms and intensive animal systems, harvest waste and pruning.

Plastic Waste

Soil mulch films, nets and mesh, piping and irrigation, poly tunnels and silage wrap.

Workshop Waste

Fencing wire and treated timber, tyres, oil, machinery and other inert and hazardous waste.
